出生於1972年英國倫敦 Kingston 的 Jonny, 母親 Anne Lee 是劇場製作人也是演員, 父親 Alan 在五、六○年代是劇場演員. Jonny 的外公 Bernard Lee 在早起 007 電影作品中曾飾演過「M」一角. 小時候的 Jonny 喜歡跟姐姐到 Television Centre。

 

出生於演藝世家的他, 1983年11歲的他就在影集「Mansfield Park」「Jemima Shore Investigates」中演出, 在就讀金斯頓的 Tiffin School 時還與 Tiffin Swing Band 一同演出. 17歲離開學校後在電視電影「Itch」中有了正試演出經驗. 22歲前在許多電視作品中客串一些小角色.

 

1995年Jonny 加入英國導演 Iain Softley 的科幻作品「Hackers」(駭客入侵), 飾演主角 Zero Cool. 此導演後來埶導過「毒鑰」等作品. 在「駭客入侵」中與當時都尚未大紅的 Jeese Bradford, Matthew Lillard, Marc Anthony, Felicity Huffman 及 Angelina Jolie 合作. 也因為此片, Jonny 與 AJ 更加熟識, 兩人於1996年結婚. 1996年 Jonny 也與 Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Kelly MacDonald 合作 Danny Boyle 埶導的「Trainspotting」(猜火車).

 

1997年, Jonny 與在 national Youth Music Theatre 認識的 Jude Law 一同投資了「Natural Nylon」製片公司, 專門製作電影及舞台劇. 其他投資者還有 Jude Law 當時的妻子 Sadie Frost, 英國演員 Ewan McGregor, Sean Pertwee, Damon Bryant 和 Bradley Adams. 同年, Jonny 在「Afterglow」(換妻遊戲) 中與 Nick Nolte, Julie Christie, Lara Flynn Boyle 等人合作, 飾演 Jeffrey Byron 一角, 也在改編自 Pat Barker 一戰小說的「Regeneration」中飾演 Billy Prior.

 

Jonny 持續在獨立製作影片中發展, 包括1999年 Jake Scott 埶導的「Plunkett & Macleane 」(搶翻天) 以及加拿大女導演 Patricia Rozema 埶導的「Mansfield Park」(窈窕野淑女). 2000年在 Wes Craven 埶導的「Dracula」(神鬼大反撲) 中飾演 Simon Sheppard. 2003年 Jonny 也參與了 BBC 電視網的「Centerbury Tales」及迷你電視電影「Byron」(拜倫) 中飾演詩人 Byron 的生活. 2004年加入了 Woody Allen 的「Melinda And Melinda」(雙面瑪琳達) 飾演 Lee 一角.

 

2005年原本被考慮接棒 Pierce Brosnan 成為新詹姆斯龐德, 但最後落入 Daniel Craig 手中. 2006年秋天 CBS 的「Smith」(暗夜神偷) 是一部七集的迷你影集, Jonny 與 Ray Liotta、Simon Baker、Amy Smart 合作. 在這之前 1996年 Jonny 也為美國電視拍攝迷你影集「Dead Man's Walk」.

 

2007年, Jonny 加入 ABC 電視網的劇情影集「Eli Stone」(神奇律師), 此影集在第二季播映結束後被停掉了. 「神奇律師」中 Jonny 飾演一位律師 Eli Stone, 因為腦動脈瘤產生幻覺. Johnny 與女演員 Michele Hicks 於2008年結婚，兒子 Buster Timothy Miller 於2008年12月3日出生。
