Sasa 出生於日本東京，五歲搬到夏威夷，之後又到美國亞歷桑那州定居。小時候在日本時就學會了柔道和武術，對於她日後在演藝圈的演出是有幫助的。母親是意大利人，是名旅遊勝地的溫泉設計師，而父親是蘇格蘭的格鬥教練。Samaire 這名字在愛爾蘭蓋亞語裡的意思是「黎明的太陽」，Sasa 的笑容也一直像陽光般的燦爛。

Sasa 畢業於當地的 Sedona Red Rock High School 聖多那紅石高中，在進入演藝圈前曾經打過兩年的排球。高中畢業後她加入了紐約 Parsons 設計學校專業暑期學分班，這是她服裝設計生涯的開始，而後進入亞歷桑那大學求學的一年期間，主修服裝設計。她有一個屬於自己的服裝品牌「NARU」，並曾獲得「Vogue」「Elle」「W」及「Elle Girl」等雜誌的推介。

 

Sasa 三歲就會對著鏡頭說「我想當明星!!」，高中時期也參與許多表演作品，在大學期間接觸到更多的演出機會後，決定以表演為事業。在大學修學後 Sasa 搬到了洛杉磯尋找更多機會。她花了六年的時間在各大影集中客串演出磨練演技，也參演一些獨立製片。終於在2006年的「The O.C.」( 玩酷世代 ) 中得到一個非常適合她的角色 -- ANNA。

隨後，在「Just My Luck」( 幸運之吻 ) 中的 Maggie 一角得到更多矚目，在「It's A Boy Girl Thing」( 女男變錯身 ) 一片終於一躍成為女主角。而「Entourage」( 大明星小跟班 ) 中的 Emily 更受到許多觀眾的歡迎，Sasa 以此角獲得美國娛樂週刊選為「2004年最突破潛力新人」。你也可以在 Daniel Powter 的「Bad Day」一曲MV 中看見Sasa 的身影。
