出生於1969年美國俄亥俄州的 Kathryn, 小時候常出現在康乃提克州的 Windsor Locks 教堂, 隨著父親 Stanley, 母親 Joyce 及六個兄弟姐妹的家族歌唱班「Morris Code」在鄉鎮巡迴表演. 大學就讀於費城 Temple University 的 Kathy 畢業後也在賓州待過兩年. 從1991年出道第一部電視電影「Long Road Home」開始.

十多年來一直都是飾演小配角, 其中包括1997年奧斯卡金獎電影「As Good As It Gets」(愛在心裡口難開). 1997年也接下了影集「Pensacola: Wings Of Gold」, 此劇播映了兩季, 劇中主演 Lt. Annalisa "Stinger" Lindstrom 一角. 2000年在政治題材電影「The Contender」(暗潮洶湧) 上映後, Kathy 飾演的 Paige Willomina 受到注意, 其中包括夢工廠.

Steven Spielberg 邀請 Kathy 參與2001年的科幻作品「A.I.: Artificial Intelligence」(A.I. 人工智慧) 裡一個搖滾歌手, 為此她還去進修了吉他與歌唱課程, 但在後期剪接卻被剪掉了戲份. 緊接著還有一部2002年改編 Philip K. Dick 作品的「Minority Report」(關鍵報告), 片中飾演 Tom Cruise 的妻子 Lara Clarke 一角.

2002年還有一部 Bruce Willis 主演的「Hostage」(終極人質) 中 Kathy 飾演被綁架者 Linda Delacroix. 2003年, CBS 的犯罪懸疑影集「Cold Case」(鐵證懸案) 挑選了 Kathy 來主演主辦警探 Lilly Rush 一角. Lilly Rush 一角每集都在上千箱未解決案子中挑選一件來解案, 個性鮮明, 劇中也沒有其他角色特別突出, 瞬間讓 Kathy 爆紅於電視圈.

此劇至2009年已播映到第六季, 因劇中非常多復古懷念畫面, 也出現不少老歌. 據說因為如此所以有版權問題, 讓三區DVD遲遲未發. 演出「鐵證懸案」期間 Kathy 曾與導演兼製片 David Barrett 交往. 目前居住於加州洛杉磯的她, 已經與一個金融界的男子 Randy Hamilton 訂婚. 2003年 Kathy 也演出了「Paycheck」(記憶裂痕) 及隔年的「Mindhunters」(死亡特訓).

2007年在「Resurrecting The Camp」(重整旗鼓) 中飾演一個從事記者工作的 Josh Hartnett 的妻子. 在以色列導演 Rod Lurie 早期的三部片, 包括 1999年的「Deterrence」、2000年的「The Contender」(暗潮洶湧) 及 2001年的「The Last Castle」(叛將風雲) Kathy 都有參與演出. 2009年的今天, 已經四十歲的 Kathryn Morris 似乎在她身上看不到歲月的痕跡!!
