蘇格蘭女演員 Karen Gillan 是位模特兒、導演及編劇，為人所知於 2010年至2013年 BBC ONE 科幻影集「 Doctor Who」中飾演 Amy Pond 一角。Karen 出生成長於蘇格蘭北部城市伊凡尼斯，7歲開始學習鋼琴，16歲開始接觸劇場藝術表演，和歌手父親 Raymond 及母親 Marie 一同搬到 Edinburgh 完成 Telford 大學的 HNC 表演課程。18歲搬到倫敦就讀著名的義大利康帝藝術學院，拿到學士文憑同時也擔任模特兒工作及電視演出。

 

2007年，Karen 為設計師 Allegra Hicks 在倫敦走秋冬時裝秀，亦為 Nicola Roberts 的 Dainty Doll 化妝品系列擔任模特兒。
早期在學期間，Karen 在影集中演出小角色，在 Sketch 喜劇影集「 Kevin Bishop Show」中擔任班底，扮演多個角色。2009年的恐怖影集「 The Well 」中，她擔任主角，影集中的短片也製作一系列線上遊戲與觀眾互動在 BBC.co.uk 上播放。2009年 Karen 接演了英國最長壽科幻系列影集「 Doctor Who 」( 神秘博士 ) 飾演 Eleventh Doctor 的伴侶 Amy Pond。

 

在 2009年5月 被選角上主要角色之前，Karen 已經在第四季的「 The Fires Of Pompeii 」一集中演出 Soothsayer 一角。2010年她憑著這個極受歡迎的角色，贏得 Young Scot Awards 獎。在神秘博士 2011年第六季，及2012年第七季的前五集也可以看到 Karen 的角色。2013年接下了喜劇演員 Charlie Brooker 電視影集「 A Touch Of Cloth 」，以及在「NTSF:SD:SUV::」第三季演出。

 

2014年2月，Karen 第一次演出美國影集，由華納製作於ABC電視台播放的情境喜劇「Selfie」飾演 Eliza Dooley 一角，此劇播出七集後被ABC取消，剩下的六集於2014年11月在 HULU 平台播放。電影作品上，2011年在獨立製作愛情喜劇「 Not Another Happy Ending 」中飾演性格古怪的作家 Jane Lockhart 一角，因為在另一部作品「 We'll Take Manhattan 」製作期間導演 John McKay 認為她非常適合這個角色而極力推介。

 

電影在 2013年6月 於愛丁堡國際電影節首映。同年在阿拉巴馬州拍攝超自然恐怖片「 Oculus 」( 鬼遮眼 )，影片於2014年4月首映。2013年5月，Karen 加入了漫威超級英雄科幻電影「 Guardians Of The Galaxy 」中飾演 Nebula 一角，而此角也將出現在續集、「 Avengers: Infinity War 」及「 Endgame 」裡。2017年，「 The Party's Just Beginning 」是 Karen 第一部自編自導自演的作品。
