出生於1997年英格蘭 Surrey 的 Ellie，家中還有個弟弟 Lucas，她就讀 Hawley Place School 及 Wellington 大學，並獲得全額戲劇獎學金。12歲時她成為 Players' Theatre Club 中最年經的成員，13歲時受崔佛納恩爵士欽點，在 Menier Chocolate Factory 演出「 Aspects Of Love 」中年輕的 Jenny 一角。

 

2014年演出電影處女作「 The Falling 」( 謎之墜落 )，同年在「 Pride And Prejudice And Zombies 」( 傲慢與偏見與殭屍 ) 中飾演 Bennett 姐妹中最年輕的 Lydia Bennett，與 Lily James, Douglas Booth, Same Riley 及 Matt Smith 合作演出。

 

電影的演出讓她在2015年被選為英國電影學院及「 Screen Daily 」的明日銀幕之星之一。2015年她回到倫敦 The Old Vic 演出音樂劇「 High Society 」飾演主角 Dinah Lord，由 Maria Friedman 執導，是 Kevin Spacey 擔任藝術總監的最後一部作品。

 

2015年11月 Ellie 得到 Evening Standard Theatre Award 的最佳音樂劇新人獎提名。2016年在 Tom Ford 執導的「 Nocturnal Animals 」( 夜行動物 ) 中飾演 India Hastings，與 Jake Gyllenhaal、Isla Fisher 合作演出。同年她也拍攝了「 Extracurricular Activities 」，此作品2019年才上映。

 

2017年以在 Donmar Warehouse 演出的「 The Lady From The Sea 」中 Hilde 一角得到 Ian Charleson Awards，Ellie 並出現在 Shawn Mendes 的一首「 There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back 」的音樂錄影帶中。

 

2018年，與 Keira Knightley、Morgan Freeman、Mackenzie Foy、Helen Mirren 合作「 The Nutcracker And The Four Realms 」( 胡桃鉗與奇幻四國 )。同年，在「 High Resolution 」中 Ellie 飾演 Erin 一角，由 Jason Lester 編導，改編自華裔美籍小說家林韜同名小說，電影在美國紐約及台灣台北拍攝。



2019年於 BBC ONE 迷你影集「 Les Misérables 」( 悲慘世界 ) 中與 Dominic West 及 Olivia Colman 合作，Ellie 飾演 Cosette 一角。2020年，在「 The Seven Sorrows Of Mary 」中她將演出主角 Mary。



在 Netflix 犯罪影集「 The Serpent 」中飾演 Angela，故事主要描寫「 比基尼連續殺人犯 Charles Sobhraj 」在1970年代於南亞尋找西方人犯案的過程。有趣的是她將在此劇中與 Jenna Coleman 同台。

 

BBC ONE 迷你影集「 The Trial Of Christine Keller 」( 克莉絲汀基勒的審判 ) 中，Ellie 將飾演 Mandy Rice-Davies，劇情改編自1963年英國陸軍大臣 John Profumo 與歌舞演員 Christine Keller 間的婚外情醜聞案。
