1994年出生於美國紐約，成長於倫敦的 Lucy，是 Telegraph Media Group 的旅行編輯 Graham Boynton 和旅行作家 Adriaane Pielou 的女兒，有一個姐姐 Emma Louise。她就讀於 Blackheath高中，之後在倫敦南部 Dulwich 就讀 James Allen's 女子學校。

 

2006年的「 Miss Potter 」( 波特小姐 ) 中飾演年輕的 Beatrix Potter，是她第一部作品，Lucy 曾說過拍攝的第一天是她一生中最美好的一天。2007年因為此角而獲得 Young Artist Award 最佳電影長片女配角獎。

 

2007年在 BBC 電影「 Ballet Shoes 」( 芭蕾舞鞋 ) 中扮演主角之一 Posy Fossil，在片中跳舞的場景均使用替身。2008年 BBC 迷你影集「 Sense And Sensibility 」( 理性與感性 ) 中飾演 Margaret Dashwood。

 

2011年在影集「 Lewis 」中客串，並在電視電影「 Mo 」中與 Julie Walters 和 David Haig 合作。2011年也加入了影集「 The Borgias 」( 博吉亞家族 )。「 博吉亞家族 」由 Neil Jordan 主創，背景是16世紀，由 Jeremy Irons 飾演教皇亞歷山大六世，François Arnaud 飾演 Cesare，Emmanuelle Chriqui 飾演 Sancha Of Aragon。

 

Lucy 則飾演 Sister Lucia。劇南於2011年4月在 Bravo 首播，2012年5月於 Showtime 上播映第三季，因為製作費用過高而於2013年取消。2016年在「 Sing Street 」( 搖滾青春戀習曲 ) 中扮演神秘的模特兒 Raphina，而在「 I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House 」( 鬼故事之家 ) 中飾演幽靈 Polly Parsons。

 

2017年在 Kenneth Branagh 執導的「 Murder On The Orient Express 」( 東方快車謀殺案 ) 中扮演伯爵夫人 Helena Audrenyi。2018年金球獎、奧斯卡熱門片「 Bohemian Rhapsody 」( 波希米亞狂想曲 ) 中 Lucy 飾演主角 Queen 樂團主唱 Freddie Mercury 的紅顏知己 Mary Austin，此角也為她獲得第25屆美國演員工會獎提名。

 

2019年9月27日於 Netflix 上線的喜劇影集「 The Politician 」( 大政治家 ) 由 Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk 和 Ian Brennan 共同創作，劇情以一個懷有政治抱負的年青學子 Payton Hobart 為中心。片中除了 Lucy 飾演的 Astrid Sloan 外，還有 Zoey Deutch，Jessica Lange，Gwyneth Paltrow，January Jones 及 Bette Midler。
