出生於1997年紐約曼哈頭的 Alex，父親是爵士鋼琴家 Michael Wolff，母親是演員及編劇 Polly Draper，家中還有一個哥哥 Nat Wolff ( 愛情齡距離、死亡筆記本、紙上城市 ) 也是演員。他的外公 William Henry Draper III 是公民領袖，舅舅 Tim Draper 是創投家， 有一個演員表姐 Jesse Draper。

 


Alex 開始演戲於2005年，八歲的他與哥哥加入音樂喜劇「 The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie 」( 我哥們的搖滾樂團 )，導演編劇就是他們的母親。此電影版由 Nickelodeon 頻道協助製作，作為2007年同名影集的首集，製作編劇導演也是交給母親 Polly Draper。

 


父親 MIchael 製作影集的配樂專輯，Alex 和哥哥也創作歌曲並演奏，主題曲「 Crazy Car 」亦進入 Billboard Hot 100 排行榜。2007年 Alex 出現在「 Fall Out Boy 」的音樂錄影帶「 The Take Over, The Breaks Over」。

 


2009年在「 Mr .Troop Mom 」( 老爸集中營 ) 及喜劇影集「 Monk 」( 神經妙探 ) 中客串。2010年於 HBO 影集「 In Treatment 」( 捫心問診 ) 中客串，隔年在喜劇片「 The Sitter 」( 兼差褓姆 ) 中飾演 Clayton 一角。2012年的獨立電影「 HairBrained 」( 天才也瘋狂 ) 中與 Brendan Fraser 合作。

 


2015年在獨立作品「 Coming Through The Rye 」( 走過麥田 ) 中飾演 Jamie Schwartz，2016年於喜劇電影續集「 My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 」( 我媽的希臘婚禮 ) 中飾演配角，並在「 Patriots Day 」( 愛國者行動 ) 中扮演恐怖分子 Dzhokhar Tsarnaev。

 


2018年，Alex 在超自然恐怖心理驚悚劇情片「 Hereditary 」( 宿怨 ) 中飾演主角之一，電影由 Ari Aster 自編自導，於2018年1月21日於日舞影展首映，6月8日全美國上映。電影中與 Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne 及 Milly Shapiro 一同演出。

 


2019年的劇情片「 The Cat And The Moon 」是 22歲的 Alex 自編自導自演的處女作，電影請到 Mike Epps, Skyler Gisondo, Stefania LaVie Owen, Giullian Yao Gioiello 及 Mischa Barton 一同演出。
