出生於1997年英國埃塞克斯的 Chapman，成長於倫敦，家中還有一個姐姐 Dolly。最令人熟知的作品是在2005年至2011年 Wes End 劇院製作的「 Billy Elliot The Musical 」( 舞動人生音樂劇 ) 中飾演主角 Billy。小時候曾在英國兒童電視頻道演出「 Fun Song Factory 」和「 The Story Makers 」等兒童教育節目。

 

2007年首次登上小螢幕，在最長壽的醫療影集「 Casualty 」( 急診室 ) 裡「 A House Divided 」單元中客串飾演 William Mulhern，高中畢業後，在情境喜劇「 Cuckoo 」( 傻鳩女婿 ) 裡的「 Family Metting 」單元中飾演 Charlie 一角，同年也在 CBBC 情境劇「 The Revolting World Of Stanley Brown 」中飾演 Stanley Brown。

 

2013年在迷你影集「 The White Queen 」( 白皇后 ) 中飾演 Richard Grey，改編自 Phillippa Gregory 歷史系列小說「 The Cousins' War 」，同年，Chapman 加入了廣受好評的 HBO 中世紀史詩奇幻影集「 Game Of Thrones 」( 冰與火之歌：權力遊戲 )，在第三季客串 Martyn Lannister 兩集。

 

2014年再回鍋第四、五、六季飾演 Tommen Baratheon，善良無心計的國王繼承者，此角色與同一起得到「 美國演員工會獎最佳劇情類影集整體演出獎提名 」。同年在偵探驚悚迷你影集「 Glue 」中飾演 Chris Pollard 一角。

 

2014年也是 Chapman 首次登上大銀幕，在 Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth 主演的「 Before I Go To Sleep 」( 別相信任何人 ) 中飾演 Adam Lucas 一角。2015年在 BBC 迷你影集「 Ripper Street 」( 開膛街 ) 中飾演 Harry Ward，並在英法合作愛情浪漫喜劇電影「 Man Up 」( 冒牌情緣 ) 中演出。

 

2017年，Chapman 在以 William Shakespeare 生平為基礎的美國影集「 Will 」( 莎士比亞 ) 中飾演 Billy Cooper，這部雖然是十六世紀的故事背景，卻加入融合了八零年代的龐克鉚釘服飾及搖滾音樂，十分現代感的三集迷你劇。

 

同年在傳記電影「 Breathe 」( 我要為你呼吸 ) 中飾演 Andrew Garfield 和 Claire Foy 角色的兒子 Jonathan Cavendish。2018年在 AMC 影集「 Into The Badlands 」( 荒原 ) 中飾演  Castor，並在驚悚動作片「 The Commuter 」( 疾速救援 ) 中飾演 Danny MacCauley 。

 

2019年的四部電影讓 Chapman 忙到翻，從 Gurinder Chadha執導英國喜劇電影「 Blinded By The Light 」( 炫目之光 )，David Michôd 與 Joel Edgerton 共同編劇的歷史劇情片「 The King 」( 國王 ) 中飾演亨利四世次子 Thomas of Lancaster、Eoin Macken 執導與 Anya Taylor-Joy 合作的「 Here Are The Young Men 」以及 Sam Mendes 執導，與 George MacKay 合作的戰爭片「 1917 」。
